Welcome to the Dads' Project You must be the change
you want to see in the world. The Dads' Project is dedicated to getting fathers and their families directly involved in improving their children's education in public schools in Tucson. The Dads' Projects has two major goals. One is to inspire and enable dads to participate in the Dads' Project at their child(ren)'s public school. The second goal is to work with the PTA, principals, staff and teachers in identifying and completing projects that improve our children's education. The Dads' Project accomplishes these goals by: 1. Focusing exclusively on carefully selected, specific, individual projects that improve public schools. 2. Using Internet technology (a Web site and e-mail) to enable working and traveling parents to join the Dads' Project, communicate with each other and support as well as participate in projects. 3. Inspiring and enabling families to take ownership of public schools in every way, including the support of educational programs and the improvement of the actual physical facility -- the bricks and mortar -- of each school. The Dads' Project recognizes the fact that State of Arizona funding for public school education ranks among the lowest in the nation. This funding is inadequate. The result is that principals, staff and teachers are among the lowest paid in the United States and that public school facilities -- the school's themselves and their grounds -- may be outdated, worn out and inadequately maintained. For all these reasons, the Dads' Project dedicates itself to directly improving public schools through the hands-on involvement of fathers and their families.
